Cold weather and I have like a love/hate relationship. I’m a big fan of wearing hoodies, slouchy beanies, and assorted gloves. I have a beard year round, so my face is almost always warm. Sometimes I have fun driving in the snow. Sometimes I fear for my life, like when I was spinning in circles down a main road. Thankfully it was in the middle of the night, so the only other car on the road was a few miles away. Also thankfully, I managed to straighten out my truck without crashing. Cold weather means, hot chocolate, chicken noodle soup, chili, NFL Football, extra movie nights under a blanket, and appreciating a heavy snow on a night I know I don’t have to leave the house. The image of Han Solo and Chewbacca on Hoth… I’m not a fan of being that cold, but I don’t mind it. When you’re cold, you can dress warmer or turn the heater on higher. In the summer, when it’s hot, it seems like you’re still hot or warm no matter what.
In Ohio, when the temperature starts to drop, it means Halloween is close. It also means Christmas is coming soon, which is always an exciting time of year for me. Which do you like better, Halloween or Christmas? I bet you’d know my favorite if you’ve seen my weekly pieces on my blogsite! A downside to cold weather is that I tend to stay indoors more often. Why go out in the cold if you don’t have to? That said, I will gladly have a quick snowball fight, and if I can talk someone into joining me, I’d love to go sledding; it’s been a while. So, I started this answer saying it was a love/hate relationship, but as I started writing, I will say my relationship with cold weather is more of a like/not mind it relationship. If that makes sense.
