I’ll keep this simple and short. My wife and I go on walks every evening. Most of the time it’s just in our neighborhood. After dinner, as long as it isn’t raining or snow storming, we put our phones away, and we go for a walk. Sometimes we talk about the day, sometimes we don’t say much of anything and just enjoy the air and outdoors with each other at our side. It’s peaceful and relaxing. We’ve made some animal friends over time that we stop to say hi to. There are two cats right down the street that come running down the driveway when they see us. They get pets and belly rubs. The homeowners have told us the one cat stares at the door every evening at the same time because he knows we’re on our way, ha ha. We see plenty of dogs, but most of them are behind a fence, so we can’t pet them all, but they perk up when they see us… and none of them bark at us. There are groups of folks on each street who we stop to say hi to and chat with for a moment before we continue our walk.
I can’t really say there is a “best part” for our daily walks—it’s just overall one of my favorite parts of my day, and also one of the few parts of my day that I’m one hundred percent in the moment and happy.
