Hello there! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday. I had mentioned in my last post that I would be watching 52 movies in 52 weeks, along with reading 26 books for 2026. I won’t be doing any reviews or anything like that, but just sharing my adventure and a few thoughts on each movie and book. Last night, I watched movie number one!

Week One:

Solo: A Star Wars Story

While it isn’t the great Harrison Ford playing the iconic Han Solo, I strongly believe Alden Ehrenreich played a young Han Solo perfectly. This film is classic Star Wars with all the space western-y adventure vibes we got from the original trilogy.

Donald Glover’s performance as Lando Calrissian… a chef’s kiss. He was brilliant!! Honestly, all the characters were perfectly casted, and I loved them all. This film is one of my favorite Star Wars movies, and while my love for Star Wars has been shaken the last several years, I’m beginning to come back around to it and focusing on what I love about the wonderful universe George Lucas created rather than the things I dislike.

Have you ever seen this movie? Any guesses on what this week’s movie will be? Is it possible that I haven’t selected one, yet? Very much. I have a new cryptid piece coming on Friday, and I will be sharing what my first book for 26 in 2026 is shortly… I’m not quite finished reading it!
