Jon Solo Sebastian 01/30/2026:
Howdy! Hope you are all finding peace in your lives today. If you’ve been following me, or are subscribed, you’ll know that I started a new thing for myself this year. I’ve felt like I haven’t made enough time to watch movies or read as many books as I would like to, so I decided at the start of this year that I would change that. I’m doing 52 movies in 52 weeks, and 26 books in 2026. I have made a couple of posts on here with the first couple of movies and books, but considering I’m wrapping up a project, I’ve just been unable to make the time to write about them on a weekly basis.
Side Note: No new cryptid post this week (01/26-02/01).
So here is a recap of what I’ve been watching, and what I’ve been reading so far. With some teasers of what’s to come.
Movies:

Solo: A Star Wars Story
Dark City
16 Candles
Super Troopers
The Breakfast Club
I’m technically at four movies with a bonus movie. That’s if I want to keep it at one movie per week, which might not always be possible, so we’re calling it five movies, so far! I still don’t think I’ll be reviewing any of them outside of my personal ratings. I might, however, review some of the movies I see in the theater this year! The one I’m looking forward to the most is The Mandalorian and Grogu Star Wars film coming this May.
Other movies coming this year that I plan to see include: Masters of the Universe, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, The Odyssey, Super Troopers 3 (all things point to this coming out this summer), Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Avengers: Doomsday, Dune: Part Three, and Werwulf. These movies along with all the other ones I plan to watch at home on 4K or streaming, should fulfill my plan…. And then some!
Books:

This list is a bit short at the moment, but as long as I stick to the plan, I will more than likely go beyond 26 books!!
Star Wars: Heir to the Empire
Star Wars: Dark Force Rising
Star Wars: The Last Command (Almost finished with this one)
I know what you’re thinking… this is all Star Wars! Ha ha, well, this is a trilogy of books, so I have to go in order. Plus, they’re just so good!
I don’t have any specific order for when I’ll read these, but here are a few on my list:
Dan Brown’s: The Secret of Secrets. I’m a big fan of Dan Brown’s books and am really looking forward to reading this one!
The Call of Cthulhu; a short one, but something I’ve never read!
The Age of Vikings
The Last Kingdom (loved the show)
Batman: Resurrection
BRZRKR (Comic books are books!)
I’m totally open to recommendations, so if you would like to suggest books or movies for me to check out, please let me know. Until next time… May the Force be with you.
