Jon Solo Sebastian 05/15/2026:
Hello friends! If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I have had a comic book in the works for quite some time. Well, last Saturday, we officially released the book, and held a book signing/release event at a local gaming shop called Recess Games! The event was a great success and we had such a wonderful time!!
The Hunted universe was created by me back in the late 90’s when I had to do a one-page short story for class. That page essentially built the foundation of what is now a graphic novel with part two coming next year, and a four book short story series… the fourth book will be released very, very soon.
A little about my background
I watched my first horror film at a very young age; I believe I was six years old when my older sister made me watch A Nightmare on Elm Street because she was too scared to watch it alone, ha ha. From there, I got into the typical horror films of the time—Halloween, and Friday the 13th. I also became a huge fan of movies like: The Goonies, Stand By Me, The Lost Boys, Monster Squad, Neverending Story, Willow, and Ghostbusters. So, before I was even a teenager, I had been exposed to the creepy stuff, and all the fantastical adventure types of stories, so it really shouldn’t be a surprise that I became inspired at a young age when it came to storytelling and adventures. My friends and I had many wild adventures growing up, and all of these things, life experiences, and great movies and television shows, are a huge part of what fueled my imagination to tell my own stories. One thing that I absolutely love is how readers pick up on some of that inspiration in my stories. You can learn a little bit about me as a person by reading my books and graphic novel!
The Hunted Graphic Novel

I won’t go too deep into the backstory of this, but like I had mentioned, the foundation of the hunted universe was crafted when I was in high school. The idea needed some extra time in the oven though, so it went untouched for many years. Fast forward to around ten years or so ago, and the inspiration returned. I had come from multiple failed (I don’t like referring to these as failed projects… they just didn’t go as planned, but they were great life learning experiences) projects at that point.
I was in several bands that never really panned out. I wrote an eight episode script for a Sci-Fi animated series I tried to put into motion with a couple of friends/fellow creatives. We were in way over our heads on that project, and had no idea how much was involved in making an animated series. At first, that didn’t stop my friend… the dude who was doing all the art and animation. After a year, we had an intro, theme song, and around 85% of the first episode animated. Along with that came major exhaustion from the artist and animator. We ended up calling it quits. I still have the scripts, and a first draft of a novel I wrote in that universe sitting on a digital shelf. One day, I might return to all of that and release it!
But back to The Hunted—So, around 10-ish years ago, I drafted the first, and very rough, copy of the graphic novel. The story never left my mind. I had it memorized, and had it all laid out, so I didn’t write a traditional comic book script or anything. Instead, I bought some paper, some drawing pencils, and got to work. Keep in mind, my art lies within the world of creative writing and music; I have very juvenile drawing skills! I spent nights upon nights drawing and erasing and redrawing the scenes and panels. I took some of my action figures and posed them in the positions I needed to put on paper. I added lighting on the table where the action figures were, so I knew where the shadows needed to be. I completed the draft, and had already known long before completion that I was going to need an artist to make this look good.
It didn’t take me long to find someone because I already knew her. I asked my wonderful and talented friend Danielle if she would be interested in helping me work on this comic book, and for her to take my awful drawings and turn them into something beautiful… which she most certainly did. It took us some time because neither of us had ever created a comic book before. She is an artist, but didn’t know the craft of creating a comic book. So over several years, she took this project on and learned everything she needed to learn in order to make our book the absolute best it could be; and it really is. You need to see it and read it!!

So here we are after nearly a decade, we’ve published and released our first graphic novel! The road was long. The wait was long. The result is better than I could have ever hoped for! We had a solid turn out at our event, and while we had friends and family come out to support us, we also sold quite a few copies to folks who were just at the store shopping or gaming.
Where can you get it?
If you’re interested in getting your copy of The Hunted, you’re in luck because it is now available on Amazon.
Here is the link: The Hunted: Superstitions Don’t Stay Buried in Brighton Falls
“Welcome to Brighton Falls; the town your nightmares have nightmares about. Every city has a story. Every town has a secret, but does every town’s secret have fangs and claws waiting for you around the corner? Brighton Falls appears to be as normal as the next town at its surface, but don’t let the pretty trees in the fall or a warm summer day by the lake distract you from the hell boiling under the city streets.
Since long before David Delarosa was born, Brighton Falls has been a breeding ground for the “unknown.” Missing persons, teenage runaways, unexplained deaths, paranormal activity, supernatural events, hauntings, and sightings of strange creatures in the night were all the whispers and headlines swirling around town for decades. It never stopped, nor did it ever slow down, at least not until David was called by a higher entity to become the latest soldier in the fight between good and evil.
One summer night, on a bike path, everything changed for David. He and his friends were walking home after seeing the year’s summer blockbuster horror film. Everything felt normal; including the joking and teasing about girls… until the hot summer air turned so cold you could feel it graze your skin like a thin sheet of ice.
What happened next changed all of their lives forever. A shadowy figure in the distance. A hunt in the past. A fight in the present. A chaotic future. Will David Delarosa and his friends answer the call, or will they become another set of whispers in the night winds of Brighton Falls.”
As always, thank you for coming to my site. Thank you for reading all of my whacky cryptid stories, and everything else I post on here! I appreciate you all so much, and am happy to have you all joining me on this journey!
