Jon Solo Sebastian 10/09/2026:
I haven’t updated my list of books I’ve read since my last post on the subject back in March. I’ve done quite a bit of reading since then. I had also planned on watching 52 movies in 52 weeks, but that isn’t likely to happen… just too busy, but I’ve also gotten hooked on some shows that take up movie watching time. Before I dive into the status of my 26 books in 2026, I will share a recap of movies and add in the shows I’ve been watching. As always, let me know what you have been watching because it might be something I’d like to check out!
Movies and Shows

Now that we’re officially at the start of spooky season, I’ll be watching all the classics this month, but let’s do a quick recap of what I’ve watched or have seen in the movie theater so far, this year.
- Solo: A Star Wars Story
- Dark City
- 16 Candles
- Super Troopers
- The Breakfast Club
- National Treasure
- National Treasure 2
- The Other Guys
- The Wrecking Crew
- Deadpool and Wolverine
- Masters of the Universe
- Captain America: The First Avenger
- Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu
- Tango and Cash
- Police Academy 1, 2, 3, and 4
- Iron Man
- A Knights Tale
- Rocky IV
- Spider-Man: Brand New Day
- G.I. Joe The Movie
- G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra
- The Mummy
- Young Guns
That’s all the movies I’ve watched this year… so far. For shows, I’ve watched:
- Punisher: One Last Kill
- Seal Team (all seasons)
- Yellowstone (all seasons) My wife and I loved this show
What do you think of the movies and shows I’ve watched? Anything stand out as good or bad in your opinion? Are any of these your favorites? Overall, I enjoyed watching all of these. There are maybe one or two that aren’t high on my list of being rewatchable… The Mandalorian and Grogu being one of them; I didn’t dislike the film, but Star Wars just hasn’t been hitting right for me for a while now.
26 Books in 2026

I think I have a solid shot at making it to 26. Here is my list. Again, let me know if there is anything out there you think I should read next!
- Star Wars: Heir to the Empire
- Star Wars: Dark Force Rising
- Star Wars: The Last Command
- Star Wars: I, Jedi
- Star Wars The Old Republic: Darth Revan
- American Gods
- Skinwalkers at the Pentagon
- Left Behind Series; all 12 books
So, I’m currently at 19 books read. I didn’t include comic books for this. If I include those, I’d be around 40-something books, ha ha. I wanted to keep this list strictly for novels, though. Up next on the list are Batman: Resurrection, and Star Wars: Scoundrels. I know you’re probably thinking, “This guy just said Star Wars isn’t hitting right for him lately but look at all the Star Wars books he has read this year.” While the statement is true, it is mainly referring to newer Star Wars movies and shows. The old books are sooooooo good!
So, there we have it! I’m probably not going to reach 52 movies this year, but I should get to 26 books; or at least very close. Either way, I feel like it’s a win because I’ve really enjoyed checking out new stories, revisiting old ones, and getting out to the movie theater a few times this summer. Oh, I’ll be seeing Street Fighter in a week, so there’s another movie for the list… it looks super cheesy, so I’m hoping for a fun time with that film!
